The
Aurbach Laboratories were established in 2002 and encompass
basic
research in bone biology and the effects of cancer on the skeleton,
as well as clinical practice in metabolic bone diseases. Dr.
Aurbach’s
scientific legacy has laid the foundation for this program. In
the spirit of Dr. Aurbach, we are committed to training physician-scientists
in the areas of bone cell biology and the effects of cancer
on
the skeleton, as well as the pathophysiology of osteoporosis.
These basic
and translational research programs will move into the clinic;
first as clinical research programs, and most importantly, into
clinical
practice. In this effort, we will interface with the Cancer Center
and all other disciplines in which metabolic bone diseases occur.
